The Whisky Flowers, one of the first bands to be featured in Fleckies’ Jam Sessions, are proof that serendipity and passion can lead to something extraordinary. From an acoustic duo born at a Harley Davidson rally to a four-piece band touring internationally, their story is as captivating as their sound.
A Blooming Beginning
The Whisky Flowers started their journey in 2023 when Aiden Pryor and Steph Ashcroft met on the lineup of the Harley Davidson International Rally. A collaborative set request later, and the two knew they’d struck musical gold. By 2024, Elliot Clark (bass) and Ben Hart (drums) joined, completing the group and solidifying their dynamic sound.

A Sound Unpinned by Genre
With influences ranging from Larkin Poe and Rory Gallagher to modern pop artists like Fiona Apple, The Whisky Flowers embrace an eclectic sound. Blues, Americana, folk, and rock blend effortlessly in their songs, delivering authenticity with every note. Refusing to be boxed into a single genre, they let their creativity lead the way, offering something fresh and unexpected with each track.
Key Moments and Milestones
The band’s journey has been marked by significant milestones. Touring Ireland in 2024 and performing at venues like The Guinness Blues Café and The Deer’s Head in Belfast are highlights. Their upcoming debut EP, Broken Bones, is a testament to their hard work and shared vision. Moments like a standing ovation from a Belfast crowd have affirmed their belief that The Whisky Flowers are on the right track.

Roots in Local Music
Local venues and jams have been instrumental in their growth. Whether it’s Tuesday nights at Paddy and Charlie’s jam at The Shire Horse in Kettering or their first-ever gig at The Red Lion in Broughton, these spaces have nurtured their sound. The Whisky Flowers are firm believers in the power of grassroots culture to foster talent and build community.
What’s Next?
With their EP Broken Bones set to release on streaming services next Friday and a full-length album in the works, 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year. Fans can catch them at major festivals like Music Barn, Belfast City Blues Festival, and the Rory Gallagher International Tributes in Holland.
