Aurora Sun Close 2024 with a Bang at Corby Irish Centre

Last Friday, we had the absolute pleasure of heading down to the Irish Centre in Corby to catch Aurora Sun’s final gig of 2024, and let us tell you – it was nothing short of MEGA. These Corby lads didn’t just put on a show; they brought the house down, and we’re still buzzing from the insane energy, epic vibes, and killer performances.

If you’re not familiar with Aurora Sun, they’re one of Corby’s most-loved bands, and their hometown gig proved exactly why. With a cross-county lineup featuring Our City Fires from Leicester, Trust Club from Rugby, and fellow Corby talents Veins, the night wasn’t just about Aurora Sun. It was about community, connection, and creating a space where fans could discover fresh talent while celebrating homegrown heroes.

The crowd was absolutely loving it – and how could they not? People turned up rocking Aurora Sun merch, showing massive love for the local scene. From the moment the first chord hit to the final encore, the Irish Centre was buzzing with an electric energy.

What the Band Had to Say

Elliot told us, “Every band that played was genuinely awesome. The highlight for me was realising how big and engaged the crowd was. Hearing them sing War back to us that loud was wild! Plus, the crowd forcing us to do an Underoath cover as an encore was madness – I ended up jumping into the pit while still playing my guitar!”

Scott added, “The new Veins lineup absolutely smashed it. The harmonies and heavier guitar riffs brought their sound to life, and Trust Club’s Buddy Holly cover was such a fun surprise.”

Carl summed it up perfectly: “The positive feedback on our new songs and seeing so many new faces in the crowd made it a special night. And finishing with the first JAM KNIGHT Alternative Club Night was the perfect way to round off the year.”

Crabby shared his own highlights, saying, “Veins completely smashed it with their new lineup. The extra guitar chugs and harmonies added so much to their sound – it was so engaging to watch and really complimented their already harmonious vibe. Honestly, every band delivered in their own way. It was a night to remember.”

Community Vibes

What makes gigs like this so important is how they bring people together. From seasoned local fans to new faces discovering their next favourite band, the Irish Centre felt like a proper community hub. Aurora Sun and their guests didn’t just put on a show; they created an experience.

Looking Ahead

This gig was a fitting finale for Aurora Sun’s year, but we can’t wait to see what’s next. If you’ve not checked them out yet, you’re seriously missing out. Keep an eye on their socials, grab some merch, and, most importantly, get yourself to the next gig.

Big love to Aurora Sun, Veins, Trust Club, and Our City Fires for an unforgettable night. And here’s to more music, more memories, and more moments that bring our community together.

Stay tuned for what’s next in 2025 – because if this gig was anything to go by, Aurora Sun aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
