Fast forward a few months, and RSP hosted its very first event in September 2023 at The White Hart. We had the pleasure of attending this first event, and let us tell you—it did not disappoint. While the experience was definitely stressful for Shay—organising the event while working a summer job and managing everything on the day—he’s grateful for the help he received. “Luckily, I had some great help around me,” he says. “Otherwise, I think I would’ve exploded from the stress!”

Building the Vibes: From Stress to Success
RSP’s first event was just the beginning. The party was a huge success, and from there, Shay brought in Connor and JJ to help grow the brand. “We’ve now got a solid team behind us,” Shay says, “and we’re all passionate about creating something that people genuinely want to be a part of.”
The latest RSP event, held in October 2024, was a major step forward for the brand. “We decided to throw a proper ‘rave’ style event in Corby—something that’s not a nightclub,” Shay shares. The team brought in a rave sound system and set up a killer vibe that was completely new to the area. The feedback was amazing. “It almost felt like it was ‘out there’ to do something like that in Corby, but the reception was incredible. It showed that people were craving something different, and we’re proud of that.”
Growing the Community: More Than Just a Party
From those first events to now, RSP has evolved into a party that people are genuinely excited to attend. The vibe is everything. “We want people to be stoked for every event, whether they’re a regular or a first-timer,” Shay says. The goal is to create a community of music lovers who connect over their shared passion for house music, no matter their age or background. The diversity in crowd has been a big win for RSP, with people from all walks of life coming together to enjoy the music. “It’s great to see such a spread in age groups—it shows that we’ve created a space where everyone feels welcome.”
Looking to the Future: Expanding the Sound
So, what’s next for Rhythm Sound Party? The team has big plans, starting with expanding to nearby cities like Nottingham and Leicester. “We’d love to bring our brand to new places while still keeping the Corby scene alive,” Shay says. “Collaborations with other local event brands are also something we’re really excited about. By joining forces, we can bring even more energy to places like Corby and Kettering and build a stronger sense of community.”
Beyond expanding, Shay is dreaming bigger. “We’d love to eventually have our own music label and even launch a festival stage at events like Music Barn or Steel Fest. But that’s something we’re taking one step at a time,” he explains. For now, the focus is on continuing to deliver high-quality, fun events that bring the community together through music.
The Most Rewarding Moments
When asked about the most rewarding moments of the RSP journey so far, Shay mentions the very first event in 2023. “That was a huge moment for me because I’ve dreamed of doing something like this since I was young,” he reflects. Another proud achievement was a fundraiser for a university project January this year, where RSP raised over £1,000. “It felt great to see our hard work go towards something positive like that.”
